Shri Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee was born on March 1, 1944 in Kolkata. He has Passed B.A. Hons. Examination in Bengali from Presidency College, Kolkata in 1964. He became Deputy chief Minister in 1999. He took over as the Chief Minister of Government of West Bengal in November 1, 2000.
  
His vision is to rank West Bengal among top 3 IT states in India by 2010. 

Dr. Debesh Das has set his vision to have more investment in IT sector in West Bengal. The investment will increase the manpower in IT industry in coming years.

Mr. N. R. Narayana Murthy is the Chief Mentor of Infosys Technologies Limited. Mr. Murthy served as the Chief Executive Officer of Infosys between 1981 and 2002. Under his leadership, Infosys was listed on NASDAQ (INFY) in 1999.
  
Mr. Murthy was born on August 20, 1946. He holds a B.E. from the University of Mysore and a M. Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.

Mr. S Ramadorai has spent 32 years in Tata Consultancy Services, becoming its CEO in 1996, taking it through a successful listing last year and playing a key role in turning it into a $2-billion Asian software leader.

His alma maters include Delhi University, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and University of California in Los Angeles. 

Dr. Azim Premji (born July 24, 1945) is the Chairman & CEO of one of the largest software companies in India, Wipro Technologies (headquarters located at Bangalore). He was rated the richest person in the country from 1999 to 2005 by Forbes.
 
In 2000, he was conferred an honorary doctorate by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education in India. He was also adjudged the Business Man of the Year 2000 by Business India. He is a member of the Prime Minister's Advisory Committee for Information Technology in India.

Mr. Balu Doraisamy is the Managing Director of HP India. He also holds additional responsibility for the operations of the Technology Solutions Group (TSG).

Mr. Shanker Annaswamy, Managing Director, IBM India is responsible for all IBM's sales and marketing, services and Global Delivery operations in India. He joined IBM in July 2004. He has a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) in Electronics and communication from Madras University and a Diploma in Business Management Education from the All India Management Association, New Delhi.

 
Mr. Subir Raha is the Ex Chairman of Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), India's largest enterprise with highest market capitalization. ONGC is a Fortune 500 company and the credit for its transformation goes to Mr Subir Raha. ONGC has a market capitalisation of over US$36 billion. Its net worth in 2004/5 was US$10.57 billion and net profit US$2.96 billion, the highest ever achieved by any Indian company. Mr. Raha took over as Chairman and managing Director of ONGC in May 2001. He was earlier a director ofIndian Oil Corporation, another Fortune Global 500.

 

 

Dr. Faqir Chand Kohli, is a visionary who has been instrumental in two different engineering revolutions in India - Power Engineering and Software Engineering. He is referred to in India as the father of the Indian software industry. (Proceedings of the 15th Conference on Software Engineering and Training) Dr. Kohli was born on February 28, 1924. After obtaining a BA and BSc (Hons) at the Punjab University, Lahore, he came to Queen's where he obtained a BSc (Hons) in Electrical Engineering, and went on to complete a MS Electrical Engineering Degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1951 he joined the Tata Electric Company. He became Director of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India's premier information technology organization in 1974. Dr. Kohli received an honorary doctorate in Engineering from University of Waterloo in 1990 and India's third-highest civilian honour, the Padma Bhusan in 2002.
